.NOVEMBER 2014 WAS COLDER AND DRIER THAN NORMAL AT DULUTH MN...

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR NOVEMBER WAS 21.8 DEGREES WHICH WAS 7.0
DEGREES COLDER THAN THE NORMAL OF 28.8 DEGREES MAKING THIS THE 11TH
COLDEST NOVEMBER IN STATION HISTORY. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE FOR THE
MONTH WAS 51 DEGREES ON THE 2ND. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE WAS 9
DEGREES BELOW ZERO ON THE 27TH. NO DAILY TEMPERATURE RECORDS WERE
SET FOR THE MONTH.

NOVEMBER 2014 WAS DRIER THAN NORMAL WITH A TOTAL OF 0.98 INCHES OF
PRECIPITATION RECORDED FOR THE MONTH. THIS WAS 1.11 INCHES BELOW THE
NORMAL OF 2.09 INCHES MAKING THIS THE 45TH DRIEST NOVEMBER IN
RECORDED HISTORY. THE GREATEST AMOUNT OF PRECIPITATION IN A 24 HOUR
PERIOD OCCURRED ON THE 10TH THROUGH THE 11TH WHEN 0.41 INCHES WAS
RECORDED. AT LEAST A TRACE OF PRECIPITATION WAS RECORDED ON 21 DAYS.
AT LEAST 0.01 INCH OF PRECIPITATION FELL ON 14 DAYS. AT LEAST 0.10
INCHES FELL ON 2 DAYS. 16.4 INCHES OF SNOW FELL FOR THE MONTH WHICH
WAS 2.7 INCHES ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 13.7 INCHES. THIS WAS THE 25TH
SNOWIEST NOVEMBER IN STATION HISTORY. NO DAILY SNOWFALL WEATHER
RECORDS WERE SET FOR THE MONTH.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE MONTH WAS 10.7 MPH. THE WINDIEST DAY
FOR THE MONTH WAS ON THE 24TH WITH AN AVERAGE WIND SPEED OF 17.3 MPH.
THE HIGHEST SUSTAINED WINDS OCCURRED ON THE 8TH WITH A WIND FROM THE
WEST AT 31 MPH. A PEAK GUST OF 40 MPH FROM THE WEST WAS RECORDED ON
THE 8TH. A PEAK WIND GUST OF 40 MPH FROM THE NORTHWEST WAS ALSO
RECORDED ON THE 24TH. THERE WERE 1289 HEATING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE
MONTH WHICH WAS 201 ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 1088. THIS BROUGHT THE
SEASONAL TOTAL TO 2215 WHICH WAS 2 ABOVE THE NORMAL OF 2213. THERE
WERE 0 COOLING DEGREE DAYS FOR THE MONTH WHICH WAS NORMAL. THE
SEASONAL TOTAL COOLING DEGREE DAYS REMAIN AT 179 WHICH IS 25 DEGREES
BELOW THE NORMAL OF 204. THE HIGHEST BAROMETRIC PRESSURE READING FOR
THE MONTH WAS 30.53 INCHES REACHED ON THE 27TH AND THE LOWEST
BAROMETRIC PRESSURE READING WAS 29.24 INCHES REACHED ON THE 24TH.

THE OUTLOOK FOR DECEMBER...NORMAL HIGHS FOR THE MONTH START IN THE
UPPER 20S AND COOL TO THE UPPER TEENS AT THE END OF THE MONTH.
NORMAL LOWS FOR THE MONTH START IN THE LOWER TEENS AND COOL TO THE
LOWER SINGLE DIGITS AT THE END OF THE MONTH. NORMAL PRECIPITATION
FOR DECEMBER IS 1.21 INCHES. NORMAL SNOWFALL FOR DECEMBER IS 17.7
INCHES. ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND NEAR NORMAL PRECIPITATION ARE
FORECASTED FOR DECEMBER.
