...STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND ELEVATED SURF THROUGH THURSDAY...

.A LONG-PERIOD SOUTH-SOUTHWEST SWELL WILL PRODUCE ELEVATED
SURF...AND STRONG RIP AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS AT THE ORANGE AND SAN
DIEGO COUNTY BEACHES THROUGH THURSDAY. HIGHEST SURF WILL BE ALONG
SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES. THE SWELL WILL GRADUALLY LOWER FRIDAY
INTO THE WEEKEND.

EVENING...

* WAVES AND SURF...4 TO 6 FEET WITH LOCAL HIGHER SETS ALONG
  SOUTHWEST FACING BEACHES. 2 TO 4 FEET ELSEWHERE.

* RIP CURRENTS...WIDESPREAD DANGEROUS RIP AND LONGSHORE CURRENTS.

* TIMING...THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY EVENING.

* IMPACTS...THE ELEVATED SURF...STRONG RIP CURRENTS...AND
  LONGSHORE CURRENTS WILL PRODUCE DANGEROUS SWIMMING
  CONDITIONS... ESPECIALLY FOR INEXPERIENCED SWIMMERS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A BEACH HAZARDS STATEMENT FOR RIP CURRENTS MEANS THAT CONDITIONS
ARE PRESENT TO SUPPORT A HEIGHTENED RISK OF STRONG RIP CURRENTS.
RIP CURRENTS ARE TYPICALLY MORE FREQUENT AND STRONGER IN THE
VICINITY OF JETTIES...INLETS...AND PIERS. SWIMMERS CAUGHT IN A
RIP CURRENT SHOULD SWIM PARALLEL TO THE COAST TO ESCAPE THE RIP
CURRENT BEFORE TRYING TO SWIM FOR SHORE. SWIMMERS SHOULD ALWAYS
SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD.
