UPDATED TO EXPAND DISCUSSION FOR MAJURO AND ARNO

...A HIGH SURF WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT FOR EAST FACING REEFS...

HAZARDOUS SURF OF 10 TO 13 FEET WILL CONTINUE ON EAST FACING SHORES
OF MAJURO THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT. WAVE MODELS INDICATE SWELL WILL
BEGIN TO SLOWLY SUBSIDE THURSDAY WITH SURF FALLING BELOW HAZARDOUS
LEVELS AS EARLY AS THURSDAY NIGHT.

HOWEVER...MUCH OF THE EAST-NORTHEAST SWELL AND WAVE ENERGY IS BEING
DISSIPATED ON ARNO ATOLL EAST OF MAJURO. THIS WILL LIMIT SURF
HEIGHTS AND INUNDATION ON THE POPULATED SOUTHEAST QUADRANT OF MAJURO
ATOLL. ARNO ATOLL WILL EXPERIENCE DANGEROUS SURF OF 13 TO 15 FEET
THROUGH AT LEAST WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

IN ADDITION...THE COMBINATION OF SPRING TIDES AND LARGE SURF WILL
CAUSE INUNDATION OF 1 TO 2 FEET AROUND TIMES OF HIGH TIDE ON ARNO
ATOLL. HIGH TIDES WILL OCCUR AT 424 PM THIS AFTERNOON...449 AM
TUESDAY MORNING AND 503 PM TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

ON MAJURO ATOLL...HIGHER SURF BETWEEN 13 AND 15 FEET WILL PERSIST
ALONG THE NORTHWEST PORTION OF THE ATOLL THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT AS
THIS AREA WILL BE EXPOSED TO GREATER SWELL AND WAVE ENERGY.

A HIGH SURF WARNING MEANS THAT DANGEROUS...BATTERING WAVES WILL
POUND THE REEFS...PRODUCING DEADLY RIP CURRENTS AND COASTAL
INUNDATION.

AVOID VENTURING NEAR EXPOSED REEFS AND BEACHES...ESPECIALLY THOSE
FACING EAST ON MAJURO AS RIP CURRENTS WILL BE LIFE THREATENING.
CAUTION SHOULD BE INCREASED FOR THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT OF MAJURO
ATOLL WHERE SURF WILL BE HIGHEST.
