COMMUNITY AND OTHER PARTNERS.

EMAIL TOPIC...UPDATE TO SEVERE WEATHER FOR TODAY

...REASONING IN EMAIL...


SYNOPSIS -
THE CURRENT FORECAST FOR THE POTENTIAL OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING IS ON TRACK. THE FORECAST CHANGE IS THAT
THE AIRMASS NOW LOOKS A BIT MORE FAVORABLE FOR THE POSSIBLE
DEVELOPMENT OF HAIL LARGER THAN 2" IN DIAMETER AND AN ISOLATED
TORNADO OR TWO OVER PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL MT.

AREAS IMPACTED BY THE LARGE HAIL/TORNADOES -
MAINLY EAST OF INTERSTATE 15 FROM SHELBY TO GREAT FALLS...AND NORTH
OF HIGHWAY 200 FROM GREAT FALLS TO LEWISTOWN.

TIMING -
THE BEST TIME FRAME FOR STRONG/SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE FROM
1 PM UNTIL 10 PM.

IMPACTS -
LARGE HAIL OF GREATER THAN 2" IN DIAMETER AND ISOLATED TORNADOES
COULD CAUSE SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE.

FORECASTER CONFIDENCE -
FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS AND TORNADOES: MODERATE
