...ALBRITTON LAKE DAM INFORMATION...

AT APPROXIMATELY 335 PM CST...THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN
SLIDELL WAS NOTIFIED OF AN INCIDENT AT THE ALBRITTON LAKE DAM
WHEREBY THE EARTHEN STRUCTURE WAS FAILING. SOME WATER LEAKAGE WAS
OCCURRING ON THE SOUTHERN END OF THE DAM. LOCAL AND FEDERAL
AUTHORITIES ARE ON THE SCENE AND INTEND TO DO A CONTROLLED RELEASE
OF WATER DOWN MILL CREEK THAT WILL FLOW DOWNSTREAM TO FORD`S CREEK
AND EVENTUALLY INTO THE EAST PEARL RIVER.

ALBRITTON DAM IS LOCATED AT LATITUDE 30.98 DEGREES NORTH...LONGITUDE
-89.68 DEGREES WEST...OR ABOUT 13 MILES NORTHWEST OF POPLARVILLE
IN PEARL RIVER MISSISSIPPI. THE MILL CREEK CHANNEL FLOWS UNDER
HIGHWAY 43 ABOUT 1 MILE DOWNSTREAM OF THE DAM.

WHILE A SHARP RISE IN WATER LEVELS MAY BE NOTED AT THE HIGHWAY 43
BRIDGE OVER MILL CREEK...NO FLOOD IMPACTS ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT
INTERESTS ALONG HIGHWAY 43 NEAR MILL CREEK NOR ALONG ANY OF THE
DOWNSTREAM LOCATIONS PRIOR TO REACHING PEARL RIVER.
