THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS...SOUTHWEST INDIANA...WESTERN KENTUCKY AND SOUTHEAST
MISSOURI.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

SCATTERED STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP ALONG AN
OUTFLOW BOUNDARY ACROSS SOUTHERN ILLINOIS EARLY THIS AFTERNOON.
ANY DEVELOPMENT WILL MOVE SOUTHEAST THROUGH THE EVANSVILLE TRI
STATE LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS. A CAPPING
INVERSION IS EXPECTED TO LIMIT THE SOUTHWESTWARD EXTENT OF THE
DEVELOPMENT. LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE PRIMARY
CONCERNS. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING SHOULD ALSO
BE EXPECTED.

ISOLATED TO WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
OVERNIGHT TONIGHT. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL AND FREQUENT LIGHTNING
WILL BE THE PRIMARY CONCERNS.

A FEW LOCATIONS...MAINLY OVER SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AND THE PURCHASE
AREA OF WEST KENTUCKY MAY SEE HEAT INDEX VALUES CLIMB TO AROUND
100 THIS AFTERNOON.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY

THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALSO POSSIBLE OVER THE NORTHEAST HALF TO TWO
THIRDS OF THE OUTLOOK AREA WEDNESDAY...WEDNESDAY NIGHT...AND
THURSDAY. WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

A PROLONGED PERIOD OF HEAT AND HUMIDITY IS SHAPING UP FROM MID WEEK
THROUGH THE WEEKEND. PEAK AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES ARE FORECAST
TO RANGE FROM 100 TO 105 EACH AFTERNOON FROM WEDNESDAY THROUGH
SUNDAY.
