SURF ZONE FORECAST
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TALLAHASSEE FL
226 AM EST WED FEB 25 2015

...SURF HEIGHTS QUICKLY INCREASING THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

.THE SURF ZONE FORECAST GENERAL OUTLOOK...

A QUICK INCREASE IN WINDS THIS AFTERNOON WITH THE APPROACH OF A
COLD FRONT WILL LEAD TO A SIMILAR INCREASE IN SURF HEIGHTS AT AREA
BEACHES. THIS WILL LIKELY OCCUR LATER IN THE AFTERNOON AND INTO
THE EVENING. ONSHORE WINDS MAY BE QUITE GUSTY AT TIMES. SOME RIP
CURRENT ACTIVITY IS LIKELY DURING THE DAY...BUT STRONGER AND MORE
FREQUENT RIP CURRENTS WILL LIKELY OCCUR MOSTLY AFTER SUNSET.
HOWEVER...THERE MAY BE RAPID CHANGES IN SURF AND RIP CURRENT
CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING...SO BEACH PATROLS AND
BEACH-GOERS SHOULD CLOSELY MONITOR THE RIP CURRENT HAZARD. SURF
HEIGHTS SHOULD BUILD TO 3 TO 5 FEET LATER TONIGHT ALONG THE
BAY...WALTON...AND GULF COUNTY COASTLINES AND LINGER INTO THURSDAY
MORNING. FOR THAT REASON...A HIGH RISK OF RIP CURRENTS IS EXPECTED
FOR EARLY THURSDAY IN THOSE AREAS.

WATER TEMPERATURE:
57 DEGREES AT PANAMA CITY BEACH.
