994 FXUS62 KTAE 160107 AFDTAE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TALLAHASSEE FL 907 PM EDT Sat Jun 15 2013 .NEAR TERM [Tonight]...
-- Changed Discussion --
High pressure remains centered off to the northeast of the region with a locally dry airmass in place across the area tonight. Thunderstorms are ongoing across West Central Florida and the outflow from these storms are pushing into the Eastern Gulf and will likely initiate some offshore convection in the marine area overnight and possibly nearing the Florida Panhandle before sunrise. Low end pops seem to handle this scenario well. As far as temperatures go, with some of the drier air surging in over the last 36 hours, overnight lows will be a little cooler than previous nights with values generally in the upper 60s to lower 70s.

The flow is expected to veer to a more southerly direction on Sunday with some increase in moisture. Thus, PoPs are expected to be a bit higher than today, but still only on the order of 30% for most areas, with a few areas near 40%. A similar scenario is expected for Monday, with the highest PoPs (still on the order of 40%) placed in the northern portions of the forecast area as a weak shortwave passes by to the north.

&& .LONG TERM [Tuesday through Saturday]...
-- Changed Discussion --
A fairly seasonal period is expected with scattered afternoon and evening convection each day. Temperatures are expected to remain near their seasonal averages.

VFR conditions are expected to prevail across the region for this TAF cycle. There is some possibility for a few hours of MVFR ceilings overnight. However, we were not confident enough to introduce lower ceilings and simply indicate some scattered clouds around 1500 ft. Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop Sunday afternoon. However, coverage will be to low to justify anything more than a vicinity thunderstorm in this forecast.
