THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND AND TONIGHT...

...WINTER STORM AND ADVISORIES ARE IN EFFECT FOR TODAY...

AN UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA TODAY
PRODUCING SNOWY CONDITIONS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ACROSS THE FAR EASTERN TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS AND SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA. SNOWFALL OF 2 TO 4 INCHES
IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND
SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA. MOST OF THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU AND PART OF THE
SOUTHERN VALLEY NEAR CHATTANOOGA ARE EXPECTED TO GET LESS THAN 2
INCHES.

SNOW AND ICE ROAD CONDITIONS HAVE BEEN REPORTED. WHEN TRAVELING...SLOW
DOWN AND DRIVE WITH CAUTION. GIVE YOURSELF EXTRA ROOM BETWEEN YOU
AND THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF YOU.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

ANOTHER ROUND OF ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO
THE AREA WEDNESDAY EVENING AND CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
PLACES MOSTLY LIKELY TO SEE SNOWFALL ARE SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA
AND THE MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW ARE
POSSIBLE ACROSS THESE AREAS. EASTERN VALLEYS OF TENNESSEE MAY SEE 1
TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE
MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA. MUCH
UNCERTAINTY STILL EXISTS ABOUT THIS SYSTEM AT THIS TIME...SO STAY
IN TUNE WITH THE FORECAST AS IT MAY CHANGE AS THE STORM GETS
CLOSER.
