THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST NORTH
CAROLINA...EAST TENNESSEE AND SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT...

A WINTER WEATHER SYSTEM WILL DEVELOP AND MOVE ACROSS THE SOUTHERN
APPALACHIAN REGION TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY. THE TENNESSEE VALLEY AND
EASTERN MOUNTAINS WILL SEE SNOW DEVELOPING AFTER MIDNIGHT AND
INCREASE IN INTENSITY BEFORE DAWN TUESDAY...WITH SEVERAL INCHES
POSSIBLE ACROSS THE APPALACHIAN MOUNTAINS AND LIGHTER AMOUNTS IN
THE VALLEYS. A HEAVY SNOW WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR THE EAST
TENNESSEE MOUNTAINS AND A SNOW ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FOR THE
TENNESSEE VALLEY...EXTREME SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA AND SOUTHWEST
VIRGINIA. SEE CURRENT WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE.

MOTORISTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR SNOW AND ICE COVERED ROADS
OVERNIGHT...ESPECIALLY BRIDGES...OVERPASSES AND BACK ROADS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...

SNOWFALL WILL BE ONGOING ACROSS THE EASTERN TENNESSEE
MOUNTAINS...SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA...SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA AND THE
ADJACENT TENNESSEE VALLEY COUNTIES AND THEN DECREASE DURING THE
AFTERNOON HOURS.

ANOTHER ROUND OF ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INTO
THE AREA LATE WEDNESDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING.
AREAS MOSTLY LIKELY TO SEE SNOWFALL ARE SOUTHWEST NORTH CAROLINA
AND THE MOUNTAINS OF EAST TENNESSEE. 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW ARE
POSSIBLE ACROSS THESE AREAS. EASTERN VALLEYS OF TENNESSEE MAY SEE 1
TO 2 INCHES OF SNOW.
