FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS...
NORTHWEST LOUISIANA...EAST TEXAS...AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA
704 AM CDT FRI APR 17 2015

.DISCUSSION...
WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TODAY...WITH MIN RH/S RANGING
FROM 60-65%. ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY
AS LOW LEVEL MOISTURE DEEPENS...AND INSTABILITY INCREASES DUE TO DAYTIME
HEATING. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL INCREASE ACROSS EAST TEXAS
THIS EVENING...AND WILL SPREAD ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF THE REGION
OVERNIGHT...AS AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE SHIFTS NORTHEAST ACROSS THE
SOUTHERN PLAINS AHEAD OF A CLOSED UPPER LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM THAT WILL
DRIFT EAST ACROSS SOUTHERN COLORADO AND NORTHERN NEW MEXICO. SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL LINGER ACROSS MUCH OF THE REGION SATURDAY...BEFORE
GRADUALLY DIMINISHING FROM WEST TO EAST. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1-2+ INCHES
ARE EXPECTED OVER THE ANGELINA AND NORTH LOUISIANA DISTRICTS...WITH
AMOUNTS OF A HALF INCH TO AN INCH EXPECTED OVER THE REMAINDER OF
NORTHEAST TEXAS AND SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS. MUCH WARMER TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED SUNDAY...WELL AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT THAT WILL APPROACH THE REGION
FROM THE NORTHWEST LATE SUNDAY AFTERNOON. SCATTERED SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ALONG/JUST AHEAD OF THE FRONT
SUNDAY AFTERNOON/EVENING...WITH SOME STORMS POSSIBLY BECOMING SEVERE GIVEN
THE STRONG INSTABILITY EXPECTED TO BE IN PLACE. COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL
FILTER SOUTHEAST IN WAKE OF THE FRONT SUNDAY NIGHT...WITH SLIGHTLY COOLER
BUT DRIER CONDITIONS EXPECTED THROUGH MIDWEEK.
