AT 831 AM CDT...DOPPLER RADAR WAS TRACKING A CLUSTER OF STRONG
THUNDERSTORMS APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES SOUTH OF AMELIA...OR 13 MILES
SOUTHEAST OF MORGAN CITY...MOVING EAST AT 35 MPH.

THE PRIMARY THREATS FROM THESE STORMS WILL BE WINDS OF 30 TO 40
MPH...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND BRIEF HEAVY RAINFALL.

LOCATIONS IMPACTED INCLUDE...
HOUMA...THIBODAUX...LAROSE...LOCKPORT...BAYOU CANE...RACELAND...
MONTEGUT...CHAUVIN...DULAC...MATHEWS...SCHRIEVER...GRAY AND DES
ALLEMANDS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

HEAVY RAINFALL IS POSSIBLE WITH THIS STORM. RAINFALL RATES OF OVER 2
INCHES PER HOUR COULD LEAD TO PONDING OF WATER IN LOW LYING AREAS
AND IN AREAS OF POOR DRAINAGE.

FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING IS ALSO OCCURRING WITH THIS
STORM. SEEK SAFE SHELTER INSIDE A BUILDING.
