...SIGNIFICANTLY COLDER TEMPERATURES EXPECTED ON THURSDAY...

A STRONG ARCTIC COLD FRONT WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA LATE TONIGHT
AND THURSDAY MORNING WITH A SHARP TEMPERATURE DROP OCCURRING AS
THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH. HIGHS ON THURSDAY WILL OCCUR NEAR OR
SHORTLY AFTER SUNRISE WITH TEMPERATURES FALLING THROUGH MOST OF
THE DAY. WHEREAS TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON HAVE GENERALLY BEEN
IN THE LOWER 80S...AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES THURSDAY WILL BE IN THE
MID 30S TO MID 40S. THIS IS A DIFFERENCE OF OVER 40 DEGREES IN
SOME PLACES.

THESE COLD TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO BE ACCOMPANIED BY STRONG WINDS.
WIND CHILL VALUES TOMORROW AFTERNOON WILL QUICKLY DROP INTO THE
LOW TO MID 20S ACROSS SOUTHWEST MISSISSIPPI AND THE ADJACENT
LOUISIANA PARISHES. WIND CHILLS NEAR OR SLIGHTLY BELOW FREEZING
CAN BE EXPECTED FROM THE BATON ROUGE AREA EASTWARD ACROSS THE
MISSISSIPPI COAST. AND FOR THE SOUTH SHORE OF LAKE
PONTCHARTRAIN...WIND CHILLS WILL DROP INTO THE MID TO UPPER 30S
DURING THE AFTERNOON.

TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO DROP AFTER SUNSET ON THURSDAY AND
MOST PLACES ALONG AND NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 10 AND 12 CORRIDOR
ARE EXPECTED TO SEE FREEZING TEMPERATURES OVERNIGHT. A FREEZE
WARNING MAY BE NECESSARY AS MANY PLANTS HAVE ALREADY STARTED TO
GREEN UP FOR THE SPRING. WIND CHILLS WILL REMAIN EVEN COLDER WITH
FORECAST WIND CHILLS RANGING FROM THE TEENS ACROSS SOUTHWEST
MISSISSIPPI TO THE MID TO UPPER 20S ACROSS COASTAL LOUISIANA.
