* AT 622 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS DETECTED A
LARGE LINE OF VERY HEAVY RAINFALL EXTENDING FROM COVINGTON TO KENNER
TO CUTOFF...MOVING EAST AT 15 TO 20 MPH. TORRENTIAL RAINFALL WITH
RATES NEAR 2 INCHES PER HOUR WERE OCCURRING WITH THIS LINE...WHICH
WILL LIKELY PRODUCE STREET FLOODING AND PONDING OF WATER IN LOW
LYING AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE
ADVISORY AREA.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED OR PONDING
OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
