...18Z AVIATION DISCUSSION...

A LOW STRATUS DECK CONTINUES OVER ALL OF THE TERMINALS. SOME
MIXING OF THE BOUNDARY LAYER IS EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON...WHICH
SHOULD PUSH CEILINGS CLOSER TO 2000 FEET FOR A FEW HOURS.
HOWEVER...THE ELEVATED INVERSION WILL STRENGTHEN
OVERNIGHT...ALLOWING CEILINGS TO FALL BACK TO AROUND 1000 FEET
AFTER 06Z. KMCB COULD SEE FURTHER STRATUS BUILD DOWN...RESULTING
IN SOME POSSIBLE IFR IMPACTS AFTER 08Z. BY 12Z...A BROAD SHIELD OF
MODERATE RAIN IS EXPECTED TO MOVE IN. CEILINGS WILL DROP INTO LIFR
RANGE AT MOST TERMINALS...AND VISIBILITIES WILL DECREASE TO AROUND
2 MILES.
