.SOUNDING DISCUSSION...

THE 12Z SOUNDING CONTINUES TO SHOW DEEP LAYER NORTHWEST FLOW
DOMINATING THROUGHOUT MOST OF THE COLUMN. A VERY DRY AIRMASS
REMAINS IN PLACE ALOFT...AND AN ELEVATED INVERSION EXISTS AROUND
625MB. BELOW THIS INVERSION...A MORE MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS IS
IN PLACE...AND A BAND OF MID-LEVEL CLOUDS IS NOTED AROUND 650MB.
A 2 DEGREE CELSIUS SURFACE BASED INVERSION IS ALSO NOTED BELOW
950MB...BUT THERE IS ENOUGH OF A DEWPOINT SPREAD AND BOUNDARY
LAYER FLOW OF 20 KNOTS IS STRONG ENOUGH TO HAVE KEPT FOG AND LOW
CLOUD FORMATION AT BAY TONIGHT. WITH THE INVERSION ALOFT IN
PLACE...THE OVERALL SOUNDING IS FAIRLY STABLE WITH NO CAPE AND
POSITIVE LIFTED INDICES NOTED. 32
