THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL KANSAS...
SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

.DAY ONE...TONIGHT

A STRONG COLD FRONT IS RACING SOUTHWARD ACROSS KANSAS THIS
EVENING..WITH VERY STRONG NORTH WINDS BEHIND THE FRONT...SEE THE
LATEST WIND ADVISORY FOR MORE DETAILS.

VERY HIGH GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER LEVELS WILL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS
CENTRAL KANSAS LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND DURING THE EARLY OVERNIGHT
HOURS...DUE TO VERY STRONG NORTH WINDS.

THERE IS A VERY SMALL CHANCE OF RAIN CHANGING OVER TO SNOW ACROSS
EAST CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS DURING THE EVENING AND EARLY
OVERNIGHT HOURS. LITTLE TO NO ACCUMULATION EXPECTED.

THE COMBINATION OF STRONG NORTH WINDS AND VERY COLD AIR WILL
CREATE 0 TO 10 BELOW WIND CHILLS...ACROSS THE MOST OF THE ENTIRE
REGION FOR LATE TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY

ARCTIC AIR WILL REMAIN OVER THE REGION AND PRODUCE WIND CHILL
VALUES BETWEEN ZERO AND 10 BELOW ZERO...MAINLY DURING THE
OVERNIGHT AND EARLY MORNING HOURS THURSDAY...FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

A WINTER STORM WILL BEGIN TO IMPACT THE REGION BEGINNING SATURDAY.
THE STORM WILL BEGIN WITH SNOW ON SATURDAY AND SATURDAY NIGHT BEFORE
TRANSITIONING TO FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET BY SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.
THE MAIN AREA THAT WILL SEE THE WINTRY MIX/FREEZING RAIN AND/OR
SLEET WILL BE SOUTH OF THE TURNPIKE. SNOWFALL TOTALS ON SATURDAY
COULD BE BETWEEN 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH MORE FALLING SUNDAY AND
MONDAY. ICE MAY ACCUMULATE WITH THE FREEZING RAIN THAT FALLS ON
SUNDAY...THESE WINTRY CONDITIONS WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL
THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND INTO THE BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK. EXPECT
CHANGES TO THE FORECAST AS THE PERIOD NEARS AND MORE DETAILS TO BE
DETERMINED THROUGH THE REMINDER OF THE WORK WEEK. PLEASE WATCH
