THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH ALABAMA AND PORTIONS
OF SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

NO HAZARDOUS WEATHER IS EXPECTED AT THIS TIME.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY...

A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE REGION ON TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...WITH
THUNDERSTORMS POSSIBLE FROM LATE MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY
MORNING. ISOLATED STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY. AS THE FRONT MOVES CLOSER TO THE
FORECAST AREA...WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 15 TO 20 MPH...WITH GUSTS OF
UP TO 35 MPH IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
WEDNESDAY.

CONFIDENCE IS INCREASING IN A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM IMPACTING THE
FORECAST AREA WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. RAIN
WILL LIKELY BEGIN TO TRANSITION TO FREEZING RAIN BY WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON...AND THEN TRANSITION TO A SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN
MIX...BECOMING LIGHT SNOW BY DAYBREAK ON THURSDAY. WHILE UNCERTAINTY
REMAINS AS TO THE TIMING OF THE ONSET OF FROZEN
PRECIPITATION...CONFIDENCE OF OCCURRENCE IS INCREASING. ICE
ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO A QUARTER OF AN INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE...ALONG
WITH SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES. MODERATE NORTH
WIND WILL LEAD TO GREATER IMPACTS FROM ICE AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS.

ACTIVATION OF STORM SPOTTERS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT PERSONNEL
MAY BE NEEDED ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY IN SUPPORT OF WINTER WEATHER
