...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR THE 04/03/2014 TORNADO EVENT FOR HUNT
AND HOPKINS COUNTIES...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN FORT WORTH HAS COMPLETED ALL
AREA DAMAGE SURVEYS FROM APRIL 3RD 2014.  IT WAS DETERMINED
THAT THE DAMAGE REPORTED SOUTH OF COOPER IN DELTA COUNTY
WAS CAUSED BY STRAIGHT LINE WINDS...SO THE TOTAL TORNADO
COUNT FOR THE EVENT NOW STANDS AT 3.  AN UPDATED DAMAGE
SURVEY FOR HUNT COUNTY IS LISTED BELOW...AS WELL AS THE
RESULTS OF THE TORNADO DAMAGE SURVEY NEAR THE TOWN OF
BIRTHRIGHT IN NORTHERN HOPKINS COUNTY.

...NARRATIVE DAMAGE SUMMARY...

IN HUNT COUNTY...WHILE THE TORNADO IS RELATIVELY LONG TRACK AND WIDE...MOST
OF THE DAMAGE PATH WAS DEFINED BY EF-0 TYPE DAMAGE...OF WIND SPEEDS AROUND
80 MPH.  MOST OF THE EF-0 DAMAGE WAS DONE TO TREES.  EF-1 DAMAGE ASSOCIATED
WITH WIND SPEEDS OF 100 TO 110 MPH WAS FOUND IN THREE ISOLATED LOCATIONS
ALONG THIS DAMAGE PATH:

1. NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF FM-1569 AND FM-903.
2. NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF CR-1081 AND FM-2194.
3. NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF CR-1003 AND CR-1033.

4 NON LIFE THREATENING INJURIES WERE REPORTED WITH THIS TORNADO.
THIS TORNADO PATH CROSSED US HIGHWAY 69 AND TX HIGHWAY 34.


IN HOPKINS COUNTY...THE DAMAGE OF THIS SHORT TRACK TORNADO WAS CONFINED
TO AN AREA VERY CLOSE TO THE INTERSECTION OF TX HIGHWAY 154 AND FM-71
IN THE TOWN OF BIRTHRIGHT.  THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED WITH THIS
TORNADO.  THIS TORNADO CROSSED TX HIGHWAY 154.
