...A QUICK SHOT OF WINTRY WEATHER FOR THE SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS...

.A FAST MOVING PACIFIC COLD FRONT AND ASSOCIATED UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE WILL SWEEP ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW MEXICO THIS AFTERNOON
AND EVENING. SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 5000 AND 6000 FEET
AS THE FRONT PUSHES THROUGH. SNOW IS ALREADY FALLING IN THE GILA
REGION... WHERE SUB-ADVISORY AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE
EXPECTED. THE SACRAMENTO MOUNTAINS MAY SEE PRECIPITATION LAST A
LITTLE LONGER...AND 3 TO 4 INCHES IS POSSIBLE ABOVE 7500 FEET.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM MST
WEDNESDAY.

* TIMING: PRECIPITATION MAY BEGIN AS RAIN AROUND SUNSET THIS
  EVENING BUT WILL QUICKLY CHANGE TO SNOW AS SNOW LEVELS DROP TO
  AROUND 6000 FEET. THIS WILL BE A FAST MOVING SYSTEM...AND
  PRECIPITATION WILL TAPER OFF QUICKLY DURING THE PRE-DAWN
  HOURS.

* SNOWFALL AMOUNTS: STORM TOTAL SNOWFALL WILL GENERALLY BE 2 TO
  4 INCHES ABOVE 7500 FEET...WITH LOCALIZED AREAS OF 3 TO 5
  INCHES ABOVE 9000 FEET. LESSER AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED IN THE
  LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE SACRAMENTOS.

* IMPACT: ROADS WILL BECOME SLIPPERY THIS EVENING...THEN ICY AS
  TEMPERATURES QUICKLY DROP INTO THE 20S LATER TONIGHT.

* WINDS: WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE NORTHWEST AROUND 15 MPH BEHIND
  THE FRONT WITH A FEW GUSTS TO 25 MPH.

A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW...SLEET...OR
FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR

DRIVING.
