May 9, 2003 Jones-Luther Tornadoes
in Eastern Oklahoma and Western Lincoln County

Jones-Luther Tornado Track

Jones tornado:
9 mile long, 0.5 mile wide swath of light tree damage (F<0) from near NE108th St and N Post Road to NE 150th and Luther, with embedded 4 mile long, 0.25 mile wide area of more significant damage, reaching F2. Outbuilding completely destroyed, sections of roof gone from other structures, 1-ft diameter wooden power poles snapped off near ground, many large trees uprooted.

Luther-Wellston:
7 mile long, 0.5 mile wide swath of light tree damage and some bent power poles starting just west of Memorial and Luther extended to 2.5 miles SSW of Wellston. Embedded 1 mile long, 100 yd wide swath of more significant damage, reaching F1 based on removal of room from second floor of house with poorly attached roof with large overhang. 6-inch diameter tree branches broken, metal outbuildings destroyed.
