A powerful winter storm produced mainly rain and snow over much of western and central Oklahoma on December 23-24, 2002. The snow fell generally north of a line from Altus to Lawton to Chicksha to Norman to Wetumka. Snow amounts in central and north central Oklahoma totaled up to 13 inches. Most of the snow fell on the 23rd and during the early morning hours on 24th, but some areas in north central Oklahoma received more snow through the evening of the 24th.
