Severe thunderstorms in portions of northwest, north central, and
central Oklahoma produced hail as large as golf balls and isolated wind
gusts up to 70 mph.
After several storms tracked across northcentral Oklahoma, flash
flooding developed in Garfield and Kingfisher Counties. In Garfield
County water covered US 81 two miles north of Bison and SH 132 4 miles
south of Drummond, causing several vehicles to stall. 3 miles south of
Waukomis US 81 was closed while crews cleared 18 inches of hail and
water from the roadway. In Kingfisher County US 81 was flooded 1 mile
south of Hennessey.

late in the afternoon and then continued to develop and move northward
across central Oklahoma into the evening. Hail as large as ping-pong
balls and wind gusts to 60 mph were reported.

Lightning from thunderstorms in southwest Oklahoma struck a tree at
Liberty Lake in Lawton, injuring one woman. A power line in Cleveland
County was also struck, knocking out power in Norman for 45 minutes.
Hail as large as golf balls was reported in Seminole County.

Oklahoma. In Alfalfa County two brief tornados caused minor damage to
a barn 5 miles southwest of Aline and destroyed a cow shed and corrals
4 miles WSW of Carmen. No damage was reported with the tornado 7 miles
WNW of Ringwood in Major County.

A line of severe thunderstorms along the western border of Oklahoma the
evening of the 20th moved slowly eastward across western Oklahoma. The
strongest storms persisted into the early morning hours of the 21st and
produced up to half-dollar-sized hail and strong winds in southern
Oklahoma. In Cotton County 7 miles SE of Devol (just north of the Red
River) a tractor-trailer was blown over on I-44, blocking 3 lanes for
2 hours.

A line of severe thunderstorms moving east at 50 mph across western and
central Oklahoma produced winds up to 79 mph.
In Ellis County the announcers stand and stock pens at the county
fairgrounds in Arnett were heavily damaged. Trees and power lines were
blown down in Butler in Custer County. In Blaine County a camper
trailer was blown over onto a boat in Eagle City and a roof was blown
off a barn 6 miles west of Watonga. Trees were downed and a trailer
house was blown down in Watonga. Trees were also reported down in
Calumet in Canadian County and a 10-inch tree limb was blown down in
Okarche in Kingfisher County.
In Oklahoma County a roof was blown off a house 1/2 mile NW of the
Britton and Rockwell Roads intersection in northwest Oklahoma City and
a truck was blown off the road at the Edmond Road/Peidmont Road
intersection 6 miles west of downtown Edmond. In downtown Edmond a
roof was blown off a business.
Windows were blown out of a building and power lines were downed in
Noble County. A large tree was uprooted in Blanchard in McClain
County.

Severe thunderstorms developed in the afternoon and produced large hail
in Archer and Wichita Counties before moving northward into Oklahoma.
Hail as large as tennis balls destroyed vinyl siding, broke windows,
and caused considerable roof damage in Iowa Park in Wichita County.
The press box at Iowa Park High School was also destroyed and two large
trees were downed by strong winds estimated at 60 mph.
