Clinton
Lightning struck a capacitor in a light pole in Clinton, knocking out
the power for nearly 20 minutes. A lightning strike started a fire
which destroyed a barn northwest of Clinton. Damage to the barn and the
items inside was estimated at $72,000.

Severe thunderstorms in southwest Oklahoma during the morning hours on
the 13th produced strong winds and hail up to baseball size.
Strong thunderstorm winds downed 13 electric power poles and damaged a
mobile home 2.5 miles south-southwest of Cache, tore the roof off a
barn near Cache and damaged a building and downed storage sheds and
trees in Frederick.

A large severe thunderstorm in southeast Oklahoma during the early
evening hours of the 13th produced one weak tornado, strong winds and
hail up to quarter size.
A weak tornado briefly touched down at 1548CST 5 miles south-southeast
of Valliant. The F0 tornado destroyed a porch and downed numerous
trees.
Strong thunderstorm winds downed numerous trees and damaged
outbuildings near Watson and in Plunketville, downed trees 3 miles
northeast of Sherwood and 5 miles south-southwest of Valliant and
downed numerous trees and power lines 1.5 miles northeast of
Plunketville. Thunderstorm winds toppled a tree on a mobile home 1 mile
west of Valliant.

Thunderstorms in southeast Oklahoma during the early morning hours on
the 14th produced strong winds.
Strong thunderstorm winds damaged a house 4.5 miles south of Soper,
downed power poles near Soper and downed power lines and large tree
limbs 8 miles east of Antlers.

E Blanchard
A lightning strike broke out windows and produced two holes in the roof
of a home just east of Blanchard. The strike also damaged water lines
and the heating and cooling systems and destroyed electronic equipment
in a nearby home.

Widespread light freezing rain and sleet occurred in much of eastern
and southern Oklahoma on the 25th. Hazardous roads resulted in numerous
accidents, several critical injuries and 6 fatalities. A woman lost her
life in an accident on interstate 35 near Ardmore. A double fatality
accident occurred on the Muskogee Turnpike near Muskogee. Another
double fatality accident occurred on route 10, approximately 20 miles
north-northeast of Tahlequah. A boy lost his life in an accident 1 mile
east of Ravia.

Widespread freezing rain and sleet occurred in much of the western part
of North Texas during the morning and afternoon hours on the 25th.
Hazardous roads resulted in several accidents, a few injuries and 1
fatality. A man lost his life in an accident on highway 287 in
Bellevue.
