Severe thunderstorms developed in the Oklahoma Panhandle during the
evening hours on the 2nd and moved eastward across northern Oklahoma
during the night. Large hail went through roofs, broke thousands of
windows, hundreds of skylights, hundreds of windshields and damaged
most vehicles left outside in the path of the storms. Hail damage to
the wheat crop across Oklahoma was estimated at nearly 70 million
dollars.
In Enid, hail up to 6 inches in diameter went through roofs of homes,
damaged 3 jets at Vance Air Force Base, resulted in $500,000 in damage
at a car dealership and broke out many west facing windows including
some at the Garfield County Courthouse. Damage to the Enid school
district included 200 windows and 60 skylights broke and 34 buses and
4 vans damaged.
Storm damage in rural Garfield County included $400,000 to 200 homes,
$975,000 to 650 sheds, barns and granaries, $80,000 to 200 machines and
equipment and 3.6 million dollars to the wheat crop.
In Covington, hail 3 inches in diameter damaged roofs and broke
windows, skylights and windshields. Total damage was estimated at
nearly $500,000 dollars including $100,000 damage to the
Covington/Douglas Schools.
In Blackwell, hail 3 inches in diameter went through roofs, broke out
several skylights and over a thousand windows, damaged heating and air
conditioning units and many vehicles. One person was injured by flying
glass after hail broke a window. Hail damage at a Blackwell car
dealership was estimated at $130,000. Total damage in Blackwell was
approximately 4.3 million dollars.
In Stillwater, softball size hail went through the roofs of homes and
damaged several police cars.
On the east side of Alva, large hail and winds estimated at 80 mph
broke out windows, downed trees and power poles, flattened sheds and
knocked down a wall. A woman was injured by large hail after she left
the house to check on the condition of her dogs. Damage on the east
side of Alva was estimated near $500,000.
In Wakita, golfball size hail and 80 mph winds broke out windows.
Damage to the wheat crop in the Wakita area was in excess of $600,000.
In Deer Creek, strong thunderstorm winds blew an 8,000 bushel wheat
storage bin 1/8 of a mile and blew a diesel fuel tank off its stand.
Hail damage to the wheat crop included an estimated 20 million dollars
in Grant County, 10 million dollars in Kay County, 4 million in Alfalfa
County and 3.6 million dollars in Garfield County.
Softball size hail fell at Beggs and 5 miles south of Bristow. Softball
size hail broke out numerous windows in Bristow. Baseball size hail
fell at Slick, where hail broke through the roof of one mobile home and
through the siding of another home. Baseball size hail also fell at
Depew, Preston, Bernice, and Skiatook, 5 miles west of White Oak just
north of Orlando, 8 miles south of Perry, 6 miles west of Stillwater,
6 miles west of Cushing and 2 miles east of Beggs. Golfball to baseball
covered the ground at Grove. Many other locations received quarter to
tennis ball size hail.
A small tornado briefly touched down 4 miles north of Turpin at
2130CST. No damage was reported from this F0 tornado.
Strong thunderstorm winds estimated at 90 miles an hour caused damage
to airplanes and mobile homes in the vicinity of Pawhuska Airport.
Strong thunderstorm winds blew a roof off a co-op building and downed
power lines in Aline, destroyed a barn and 4 grain bins, blew out
windows and downed trees 5 miles south-southwest of Renfrow, downed
trees in Laverne and Bartlesville, broke off tree limbs in Perry and 13
miles NNW Selman and damaged a fire station under construction in
Amorita.
A lightning strike started a fire at an apartment complex in Enid.
Damage was estimated at $5,000. Lightning started fires which destroyed
a home in Alva and destroyed a trailer southeast of Alva.

Severe thunderstorms developed in southwest Oklahoma during the
afternoon of June 7th and moved eastward. The storms produced hail up
to baseball size and damaging winds up to 80 mph.
In Marlow, hail up to baseball size damaged roofs, knocked out windows
and skylights and broke windshields.
Strong thunderstorm winds resulted in tree damage from Spencer to 2
miles east of Spencer, in northern Oklahoma City, in southeast Edmond,
3 miles east of Broken Arrow, in Guthrie, Midwest City, Hastings,
Kendrick, Stroud and Pryor and downed power lines in Guthrie and on
Outpost Road in eastern Oklahoma City. Also, thunderstorm winds damaged
or destroyed several barns and uprooted trees 2 miles west of Marlow,
knocked a tree on a house in Shawnee, damaged the roof over a garage,
roof turbines and siding and broke windows in Kendrick and downed a
light pole and damaged an outbuilding in Stroud. Strong thunderstorm
winds downed numerous trees and power lines and caused roof damage on
the south side of the city of Tulsa. Most of the damage in Tulsa
occurred between 71st Street South and 81st Street South between
Sheridan Road and Memorial Avenue. Strong thunderstorm winds destroyed
a metal and wood garage 2 miles southwest of Oologah which resulted in
minor damage to 5 vehicles. Thunderstorm winds as high as 75 miles an
hour blew part of the roof off a retirement home in Claremore. Windows
were blown out of a house on the west side of the town of Jay, and
windows were also blown out of a shopping center in Broken Arrow.
Thunderstorm winds gusted to 81 miles an hour in Pryor, 80 miles an
hour just north of Peggs and from 70 to 80 miles an hour just north of
Moodys.
Lightning struck electrical wires on the east side of Marlow, which
started a fire in nearby house. In Miami, a lightning strike damaged a
television, washer and dryer.
Heavy rain resulted in street flooding in Frederick.

A weak tornado developed .5 miles west of Overbrook at 0908CST and
traveled 1.5 miles before dissipating 1.5 miles east-northeast of
Overbrook at 0913CST. This F0 tornado damaged a horse barn, ripped
metal from another barn, knocked out windows and broke off tree limbs.
Strong thunderstorm winds damaged trees 5 miles southwest of Farris and
1.5 miles west of Overbrook and downed numerous trees in Ada.
Lighting started a fire at a janitorial supply center in Ada.

Severe thunderstorms developed in northern Oklahoma during the
afternoon hours on the 8th and produced 3 weak tornadoes and 1 strong
tornado.
A strong tornado developed 3 miles south-southwest of Newkirk at
1635CST and moved east-northeast 11.5 miles before dissipating at
1702CST 10 miles east of Newkirk. This F3 tornado destroyed a two-story
5 bedroom brick house, a mobile home, 3 barns, a television tower, two
out buildings, a motor home, a pop-up camper, a pole barn and a pole
shed. The tornado downed trees and power lines and was between 100 and
250 yards wide.
A small tornado briefly touched down at 1607CST in an open field 7
miles north of Blackwell. There was no damage associated with this F0
tornado. Another tornado developed at 1715CST approximately 14 miles
east-southeast at Newkirk and moved east around 0.3 miles before
dissipating at 1717CST. This F0 tornado broke off tree limbs and downed
trees. The 3rd weak tornado developed at 1835 CST 1 mile south of Copan
near U.S. Highway 75. No damage occurred as a result of this F0
tornado.

Severe thunderstorms developed in southwest Oklahoma during the early
afternoon hours on the 9th and moved rapidly east-northeastward during
the afternoon and early evening hours. Widespread wind damage occurred
with the storms and 4 tornadoes occurred within a few miles of Tulsa.
The first tornado briefly touched down at 1558 CST near the
intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and 141st Street South in Glenpool. The
tornado damaged a lumber yard and 2 or 3 mobile homes in this area
before lifting. Damage to the lumber yard was estimated at $150,000.
The manager of the lumber yard sustained a broken hand. This tornado
was rated F0 in intensity. The second tornado touched down at 1600 CST
4 miles north northeast of Sapulpa. The tornado damaged a house, garage
and trees on the north side of Interstate 44 before crossing the
interstate and damaging a truck driving school. The tornado moved east
into Tulsa County at 1605 CST and damaged several homes and one
apartment near 61st Street South and 33rd West Avenue. Several vehicles
were also damaged in this area. The tornado lifted at 1606 CST near the
intersection of U.S. Highway 75 and 61st Street South. The 3 mile long
and 50 yard wide damage path was not continuous, and the tornado
produced F0 to occasional F1 damage. The third tornado touched down at
1615 CST near the intersection of Kent and Lyons Streets in Broken
Arrow. The tornado caused considerable damage to several homes in this
area. This 50 yard wide tornado was on the ground for less than 1/8
mile and produced F0 to F1 damage. The fourth tornado touched down very
briefly near Oneta at 1619 CST. This F0 tornado uprooted trees.
Strong thunderstorm winds resulted in tree damage in Seminole, Mustang,
Davis, Chandler, Midwest City, Cyril, Norman, Duncan, Elgin, Choctaw,
Bristow, Boley, Tulsa, Sapulpa, Broken Arrow, Big Cabin and Coweta, 4
miles south-southwest of Meridian, 4 miles south-southeast of Seward,
6 miles northwest of Shawnee, 15 miles northwest of Ada, 1 mile west of
Beggs, 4 miles north of Coweta, 6 miles east of Wagoner and from
Colcord to West Siloam Springs. Tree limbs were blown onto power lines
in Muskogee. Near Peggs, 5 homes were damaged by strong winds. A
satellite dish was blown down and a storm door was blown off a house in
Adair. Thunderstorm winds tore the roof off a Kwik-Stop in Seminole,
damaged roofs in Broken Arrow and Tulsa, blew out windows in Bristow,
downed power lines in Chandler, Duncan, Shawnee, Davis and Tulsa,
destroyed a vacant mobile home and tore the roof off a barn 4 miles
north of Coweta, downed telephone lines in Elmore City, overturned a
mobile home in southeast Lawton, damaged two mobile homes and a barn in
Geronimo and damaged the roof of a trailer 6 miles northwest of
Shawnee. Thunderstorm winds tore the roof of a baseball field dugout in
Davis, downed a gas station awning in north Oklahoma City, destroyed a
metal building in Meeker, damaged signs in Newcastle, blew a tree on a
house in Wewoka and overturned a pop-up camper in Shawnee.
In Tulsa County, the Liberty Park Fire Station 10 miles south of Jenks
had 3 bay doors blown out or heavily damaged. Across the street at
Liberty School, 3 lights at the football field were bent and nearly
broken, and nearby houses received shingle damage. Considerable roof
damage occurred at the Union High School at 66th Street South and Mingo
Road. Roof damage also occurred at the Williamsburg Apartments on Lewis
Street between 67th Street South and 71st Street South, and windows
were blown out at the apartment complex. A sign was blown down at a
Western Sizzlin' Restaurant. A carport was blown away near Sheridan
Road and 56th Street South. In Broken Arrow, 37 homes were damaged by
the tornado and strong thunderstorm winds.
Strong thunderstorm winds in Midwest City tore a section of a roof off
a shopping center, crushing 3 cars. Total damage was around $70,000.
Thunderstorm winds gusted to 80 miles an hour at Hulbert and to 70
miles an hour at Tahlequah.
Heavy rains from the thunderstorms resulted in street flooding in
Chelsea.
Lightning struck and injured a soldier at Fort Sill. Lightning also
struck a house in Okarche which resulted in minor damage. The roof of
a school in Lawton was hit by lightning and the resulting fire caused
$30,000 in damage and left a fairly large hole in the roof. In
addition, water damaged occurred in the building as rain poured through
the hole in the roof. Lightning struck a house in northwest Oklahoma
City which resulted in minor damage.

Severe thunderstorms developed in north-central Oklahoma during the
afternoon hours on the 24th. The thunderstorms developed southwestward
through central Oklahoma and into southwest Oklahoma during the evening
hours and produced two weak tornadoes.
Weak tornadoes formed just north of Lovell at 1625CST and 3 miles
north-northwest of Crescent at 1650CST. Both of these F0 tornadoes
developed over open fields and no damage was reported.
Strong thunderstorms winds downed tree limbs in Perry, 2 miles
southeast of Marshall, on the southeast side of Lovell, 2 to 4 miles
west of Guthrie, 8 miles east of Lookeba, 8.5 miles south-southeast of
Carnegie, 19 miles west-southwest of El Reno, 9 miles south of Mountain
View, 2 miles south of Meers, 3 miles west of Frederick, in Stecker and
in Tipton, downed large trees 4 miles west of Guthrie and 8 miles north
of Verden and tore the roof off a barn and downed power line 8 miles
north of Verden. Strong thunderstorm winds overturned a trailer and
severely damaged a barn 2 miles north of Mountain View.
Quarter Size hail covered the ground 8 miles east of Lookeba.
Heavy rainfall resulted in flooding of highway 177 about 4 miles
northeast of Tonkawa. Several cars were swept off the road and into
ditches.
A lightning strike destroyed a house near Tom Steed Lake.

Thunderstorms occurred in portions of northern Oklahoma and the
Oklahoma panhandle during the evening hours on the 25th and during the
early morning hours on the 26th.
Strong thunderstorm winds downed trees 2 miles south of Guthrie and
winds estimated near 60 mph downed numerous tree limbs in Mooreland.
Heavy rain resulted in water over highway 4 just north of Piedmont and
street flooding in El Reno and Taloga. A county bridge 8 miles east and
2 miles north of Elmwood was washed out.
A lightning strike resulted in an estimated $20,000 in damage to a home
in Yale. Lightning struck a runway at Stillwater Municipal Airport
which created a hole 18 inches across and 6 inches deep.

up to nickel size.
Strong thunderstorm winds ripped a section off of a high school roof
and downed trees and power lines in Goree and destroyed a shed near
Munday. Thunderstorm winds up to 75 mph broke out windows, downed tree
limbs and damaged a patio roof in Knox City.
Heavy rain resulted in street flooding in Wichita Falls. Several
motorists were rescued from the high waters.
