Weather History for November 27On this date in 2001, a powerful winter storm, the first of the season, dumped between 3 and 8 inches of snow across portions of central and southwest Oklahoma. Isolated reports of up to 10 inches were seen across western north Texas. By the next day, Lawton had accumulated 6 inches of snow from the event, while Munday, Texas had accumulated 14 inches! On this date in 1919, sleet and freezing rain began falling across much of Oklahoma. After two days, ice accumulations greater than one inch built up on most surfaces. |
