Probable Cause

Check Dash Pot Fluid Level

 

 

GAGE WILL NOT REACH MAXIMUM LIMITS

Probable Cause

Improper Index of Pulley to Code Disc (see Install New Cable)

Check Limit and Shipping Screw

 

 

BROKEN DRIVE CABLE

Probable Cause

Install New Cable. (Important: read instructions before replacing.)

 

 

GAGE WILL NOT START

Probable Cause

Check Battery Voltage, if voltage is good, check the,

punch motor. If the punch motor is good, check the on/off switch

Microswitch defective

Check Terminal Board connections,

 

 

PUNCH MOTOR RUNS BUT CAMSHAFT DOES NOT TURN

Probable Cause

Gear Train Stripped caused by:

A) nick in cam causes Cam Follower to bind

B) Misadjusted Force Spring (replace punch motor after correcting the above)

 

 

GAGE WILL NOT STOP RUNNING (PUNCHES CONTINUOUSLY)

Probable Cause

Microswitch defective or not aligned properly with camshaft

Check Terminal Board connections,

 

 

GAGE STOPPED IN MID CYCLE

Probable Cause

Punch Motor may be running intermittently

Check Terminal Board connections

 

 

PUNCHED HOLES ARE BETWEEN LINES

Probable Cause

Adjust Feed Pawl

 

 

POINTER TO CODE DISK DOES NOT REFLECT PUNCHED VALUES

Probable Cause

Check Zero (0) Adjust

 

 

PUNCHING INCORRECT VALUES

Probable Cause

Punch Block Misaligned

 

 

TAPE STUCK IN PUNCH BLOCK

Probable Cause

Check for Bent Punch Pins or Punch Pins out from under the Stripper Plate.

Punch Arm Cam Follower Misadjusted

Usually caused by Human Intervention

Punch Block Misaligned

 

 

TAPE MISPUNCHING (Lacing or Close Punches)

Probable Cause

Misaligned Punch Block Shim.

Improper paper take-up tension or bad coupling.

Misaligned Take-up Spool.

Binding of Supply Spool Section

Alignment or bad sprocket

Adjust 10 pin arm, tighten set screw

Arm should travel about 10 degrees

 

 

PUNCHES SKIPPING, TIME OFF

Probable Cause

Adjust Cam Follower and Feed Pawl

Make sure that Tape is Aligned Correctly

Check Take-up Spring Tension

 

 

TIME OFF, NO PUNCHES MISSING

Probable Cause

Check Battery,(under load) Check Solar Panel Voltage

(Make Sure Battery is Disconnected)

Check Blocking Diode
