Summer of 2009 3rd Warmest on Record in San Juan

The summer of 2009 began on June 21st and ended on September 22nd. This 94 day period represented the 3rd warmest summer on record in the San Juan Metropolitan area, consisting of the 6th warmest average high temperature for the period and the warmest average low temperature for the period.  (The average high temperature for the summer was 90.0F and the average low temperature was 79.0F, representing an average temperature of 84.5F.) A plot of the preliminary 2009 Maximum and Minimum temperatures against their respective long term averages is displayed below.
