On October 28th , 2009, the SERFC Web site transitioned to a new Content Management System (CMS). To our customers, this will mean enhanced stability and more dynamic web pages. The CMS system will allow all SERFC staff members to quickly and easily modify and add web pages to our web site with ease, even if they have very little knowledge on web page development.
The new CMS is a web based web site developer tool. All the tools required in developing a web page for our web site will be at our disposal. All SERFC staff will have the opportunity to create or modify a web page from any computer. The great thing about CMS is that it automatically places the top, left and bottom border on the web page. The CMS has an easy interface for creating the left hand menu and editing it. Once an edit is made these changes will automatically be in place for all of our web pages.
The SERFC home page will have a new, “News of the Day”, feature at the top of the page. The CMS will have an easy to use interface for creating and publishing articles and other news items very quickly. These temporary web pages will have a title and will show up as a headline on the top of the home page. The publisher will also be able to set an expiration time so that outdated products do not remain on the page.
By making web page development and modifications so easy, the CMS system will allow all SERFC personal to have their hands on the SERFC web content. The customer should see a very dynamic web site, with constant updates and alerts.
