Wednesday, November 10 is Winter Weather Awareness Day in Oklahoma and Texas.
As we saw dramatically illustrated in the Christmas Eve blizzard of 2009, and the devastating ice storm from this past January, winter storms are serious business. Whether it's an debilitating ice storm, a blizzard or just a little freezing drizzle that make roads slick and dangerous, winter weather can have significant impacts on our lives.
The National Weather Service, together with our partners in emergency management have set aside November 10th as Winter Weather Awareness Day in Oklahoma and Texas. It's never too early to start thinking of ways you can be more prepared to deal with the snow, sleet, ice and cold winter weather that's almost sure to come in the next few months.
