Accumulates on Trees and Power Lines
Over Northwestern Middle Tennessee
Freezing rain has fallen over northwestern
Middle Tennessee over the last few days. The
maximum accumulations have been over
Stewart County, over the extreme northwest.
At sunrise on Monday, Stewart County had
0.2" inches of ice accumulation and since
temperatures never got above freezing
Monday afternoon, the ice never melted. So,
when more freezing rain started today, it began
accumulating on ice that was still hanging
on the trees and powerlines. Around 3 pm, as
much as a third of an inch of ice had accumulated
over northern Stewart County.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for
northwestern Middle Tennessee through 6 am,
including the Clarksville and Dover areas.
