Ol' Man Winter opens
up Canadian Pipeline
An arctic front continued to plow southward Sunday
night and early Monday...passing Chicago and Kansas
City...and sending temperatures tumbling through
the teens.
We may be able to get a 10 deg rise in temperatures
in the Mid State today...before the really cold air
arrives tonight and Tuesday. Highs today are
expected to be mainly in the mid to upper 30s.
Here's the current forecast for Nashville, Clarksville
and Crossville for Monday and Tuesday (when the
coldest air is expected to arrive):
Nashville:
Monday High: 39 deg
Monday Night Low: 17 deg
Tuesday High: 29 deg
Clarksville:
Monday High: 35 deg
Monday Night Low: 14 deg
Tuesday High: 27 deg
Crossville:
Monday High: 38 deg
Monday Night Low: 13 deg
Tuesday High: 27 deg
After a bit of a warm-up Wednesday and
Thursday, another cold air mass arrives Thursday
night and Friday...with temperatures probably
falling out of the 40s and back into the 30s by
Friday afternoon. There will also be a chance
for snow showers Friday afternoon into Friday
night.
Will this cold air pattern persist or modify again?
Right now, models show a flip-flop back to milder
conditions next week (Jan. 27-Feb 2).
