The old daily maximum rainfall record for the
Nashville Airport, for July 14th, was broken on
Saturday. The old record was 1.59 inches, set
back in 1947. As of 7 pm, the rainfall total at the
airport had reached 1. 67 inches--with more
rainfall likely to be measured before the end of
the day.
Following are photos of some localized flooding
and ponding of water that took place near Mount Juliet
on Saturday, around noon. More than 3 inches of rain
was measured in the area between 7 am and 1 pm:
