...JUNE WAS WARM WITH ABOVE NORMAL RAINFALL...

JUNE 2011 IN NASHVILLE WAS THE 20TH HOTTEST JUNE ON RECORD AND
ENDED 3.5 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE FIRST 11 DAYS OF JUNE WERE THE
2ND HOTTEST ON RECORD...SURPASSED ONLY BY 1874. THE AVERAGE HIGH
TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 89.4 DEGREES WHILE THE AVERAGE LOW
TEMPERATURE WAS 67.7 DEGREES. THE HIGHEST TEMPERATURE DURING JUNE
2011 WAS 97 DEGREES ON JUNE 5TH. THIS SET A NEW DAILY RECORD
BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD FOR THE DATE OF 96 DEGREES SET BACK
IN 1925. THE LOWEST TEMPERATURE DURING JUNE WAS 62 DEGREES ON THE
16TH AND 30TH.

THERE WERE 15 DAYS OF 90 DEGREES AND ABOVE. ON AVERAGE THERE ARE
ABOUT 10 DAYS OF 90 DEGREE HEAT IN JUNE. THE MOST DAYS IN JUNE
WITH 90 DEGREES AND ABOVE WERE 28 DAYS BACK IN 1952.

RAINFALL FOR JUNE 2011 TOTALED 5.04 INCHES WHICH WAS 0.96 INCH
ABOVE NORMAL. A NEW CALENDAR DAY RAINFALL RECORD WAS SET ON JUNE
28TH WHEN 1.66 INCHES OF RAIN FELL BREAKING THE OLD RECORD OF
1.31 INCHES SET IN 1951.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR THE MONTH WAS 5.2 MILES AN HOUR. A
THUNDERSTORM ON THE 18TH PRODUCED WIND GUSTS TO 63 MILES AN HOUR
AT THE NASHVILLE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

THERE WERE 7 DAYS IN WHICH THUNDERSTORMS OCCURRED AT NASHVILLE.

CROSSVILLE...WAS NOT ONLY WARMER THAN NORMAL BUT MUCH WETTER THAN
NORMAL. THE TEMPERATURE AVERAGED 2.8 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE
HIGHEST WAS 89 DEGREES ON THE 5TH AND THE LOWEST WAS 57 DEGREES ON
TEH 14TH AND 30TH.

RAINFALL TOTALED 7.68 INCHES FOR JUNE 2011 WHICH IS 2.95 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL.

THE AVERAGE WIND SPEED FOR JUNE 2011 WAS 3.2 MILES AN HOUR. A
THUNDERSTORM ON THE 21ST PRODUCED A WIND GUSTS OF 40 MILES AN
HOUR.
