Since the year 2000...fifty two Tornadoes have killed 32 people in Tennessee during the month of February. The 37 tornadoes and 31 fatalities that occurred in February 2008 is the largest number on record for the month of February in the last 60 years.

Tennessee had the first tornado related fatality in the United States for 2011 when a tornado struck near Tullahoma in Franklin County on February 28th...2011 killing a 79 year-old man in his mobile home. The tornado was on the ground for 11 miles, uprooting throusands of trees in its path. Four other people were also injured in the storm.
