...DAMAGE IN JACKSON COUNTY DUE TO STRAIGHT LINE WINDS ..

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DAMAGE SURVEY TEAM HAS COMPLETED
SURVEYING NORTHERN AND EASTERN JACKSON COUNTY. THE DAMAGE NOTED WAS
ALONG YORK HIGHWAY NORTHEAST OF GAINESBORO. FOR 2.7
MILES...NUMEROUS TREES WERE SNAPPED AND SOME UPROOTED BY
THUNDERSTORMS WHICH AFFECTED THE AREA OVERNIGHT. IT WAS DETERMINED
THAT ALL OF THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY 80 MPH TO 90 MPH STRAIGHT LINE
WINDS.
