THE SUMMER SOLSTICE WILL OCCUR WHEN THE SUN REACHES ITS NORTHERN MOST
LATITUDE OF THE YEAR...WHICH WILL BE ON SATURDAY...THE 21ST OF JUNE AT
551 AM CDT. AT THAT TIME...THE SUN WILL BE DIRECTLY OVER THE
TROPIC OF CANCER IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE AT 23 1/2 DEGREES LATITUDE
NORTH OF THE EQUATOR. IT WILL BE PRECISELY AT 551 PM CDT WHEN THE
SUN ENDS ITS 6 MONTH JOURNEY NORTH..AND BEGINS ITS 6 MONTH JOURNEY BACK
TO THE SOUTH. THIS IS ALSO THE TIME OF THE YEAR WITH THE MOST HOURS OF
DAYLIGHT NORTH OF THE TROPICS.
