On January 24th of this year Nashville's high was 56 degrees. Since then the temperature has failed to reach the 50 degree mark in Nashville but it might this coming Saturday February 20th. If it does it will make for 27 consecutive days without reaching 50 degrees in Nashville. The record is 43 days back in the winter of 1979. That run ended on February 13th. Other lengthy runs are 39 days in 1985 that ended on February 9th and 35 days in 1978 that ended on February 12th.

There has never been a winter month (Dec, Jan, Feb) that the temperature has failed to reach the 50 degree mark in Nashville but we have come close. Nashville reached 50 degrees only once in January 1985 and again in January 1979 and in February 1978.

On average Nashville will reach or exceed the 50 degree mark 24 days in the month of December, 14 days in January and 16 days in February.
