...SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR BLACK ICE DUE TO FREEZING RAIN...

REPORTS OF BLACK ICE FORMING ON ROADWAYS IN SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE
ARE BEING RECEIVED HERE AT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE IN NASHVILLE
WITH THE LATEST REPORT FROM LAWRENCEBURG. LIGHT RAIN...LIGHT FREEZING
RAIN AND SLEET WILL CONTINUE TO ADVANCE NORTHEAST THROUGH THE REMAINDER
OF THE EVENING AND IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. GROUND AND ROAD SURFACES
IN MANY AREAS ARE AT OR BELOW FREEZING ALREADY...AND WITH AIR TEMPERATURES
EXPECTED TO FALL TO FREEZING OR JUST BELOW IN THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. LOW
LYING AREAS WILL HAVE THE MOST PROBLEMS WITH THE FREEZING RAIN DUE TO
THE TRAPPED COLDER AIR. MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO USE CAUTION AND BE ON
THE LOOKOUT FOR BLACK ICE...ESPECIALLY ON APPROACHING BRIDGES AND
OVERPASSES.
