...SOME SNOW ACCUMULATION IS POSSIBLE ALONG THE CUMBERLAND
PLATEAU TONIGHT THROUGH MONDAY MORNING...

...PATCHY FREEZING DRIZZLE IS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF
MIDDLE TN ON MONDAY MORNING...

AN UPPER LEVEL SHORTWAVE WAS LOCATED JUST NORTH OF THE MISSOURI
BOOTHEEL THIS AFTERNOON. THIS FEATURE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE EASTWARD
ACROSS KY TONIGHT. AS THE SHORTWAVE AXIS MOVES EAST OF THE MID
STATE TONIGHT...COLDER AIR WILL WORK IN BEHIND THE SYSTEM AND
CHANGE THE RAINFALL OVER TO SNOW. AT THIS TIME...IT LOOKS AS
THOUGH THE TRANSITION FROM RAIN TO SNOW WILL OCCUR BETWEEN 1 AM
AND 3 AM ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL AND WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE MID
STATE...AND THEN 3 AM TO 6 AM ACROSS THE REMAINDER OF MIDDLE
TN...INCLUDING THE CUMBERLAND PLATEAU.

SNOWFALL ACCUMULATION OF UP TO 1 INCH WILL BE POSSIBLE ALONG THE
CUMBERLAND PLATEAU...WHERE A LONGER DURATION OF MOISTURE WILL
RESIDE WITH THE COLDER TEMPERATURES. ELSEWHERE...UP TO ONE HALF
INCH OF SNOW WILL BE POSSIBLE FROM MACON COUNTY SOUTHWARD THROUGH
GRUNDY COUNTY. FURTHER WEST...A DUSTING OR LESS IS EXPECTED.

IN ADDITION TO THE SNOWFALL THREAT...AS WE MOVE INTO MONDAY
MORNING...AREAS ACROSS EASTERN MIDDLE TN MAY ALSO ENCOUNTER
PERIODS OF FREEZING DRIZZLE. THIS WILL PROVIDE AN ADDED THREAT TO
THE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ROAD CONDITIONS...PARTICULARLY WITH
BRIDGES AND OVERPASSES.

LATE NIGHT AND MORNING MOTORISTS ARE URGED TO STAY TUNED AND KEEP
ABREAST OF THE LATEST WEATHER CONDITIONS AS THIS SYSTEM UNFOLDS.
