Memphis Temperatures for the First Half of 2013

Believe it or not, we have reached the midpoint of the year 2013. The graphic below displays daily maximum and minimum temperatures for the first half of the year (Jan 1 - Jun 29) for the Memphis area.

The tan area is normal temperatures, the red area depicts above average temperatures, and the area in blue is below average temperatures. The red line at the top is record highs and the blue line at the bottom is record lows. The dark blue line in the middle represents the temperature trend this year.

Notice that highs near the beginning of the year were above normal, coming really close to record highs. We have also recorded near record lows, including lows in early May which did break records. We have returned to near normal temperatures during the month of June.
