As an integral part of its mission, the NWS recognizes the need to provide the emergency management community with access to a set of basic NWS warnings, watches, forecasts, and other products at no recurring cost.
The Emergency Managers' Weather Information Network (EMWIN), is now evolving into a fully operational and supported NWS service, in partnership with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and other public and private organizations.
Console Replacement System
The CRS will help National Weather Service field offices automate their NWR broadcasts. A part of this automation involves the capacity to broadcast voice to text messages through a synthesized voice.
