This U.S. Forest Service site is located in Polk County on Chilhowee Mountain at an elevation of 1322 feet MSL. This station is in a fairly flat and open field with good exposure to the winds in all directions. There are no topographical features nearby which might obstruct or affect the large-scale winds, and the trees surrounding the field are around 100 feet away from the RAWS.
