WSR-88D Tropical Storm Gordon Page
Tropical Storm Gordon effected east central Florida from
November 13 through 18th 1994 causing a killer tornado and flooding rainfall
that lead to several deaths. This page will be the place to see the images
of Gordon as recorded with the WSR-88D radar at Melbourne. Two radar loops
were added in October '97...they load slowly*....but
final loop is worth the wait!
Another look at Tornadic Storms
Associated with Tropical Storm Gordon Rainbands. Here's a reflectivity
loop* and a velocity
(storm-relative) loop* of the "Barefoot
Bay" tornado.
The center of Gordon is north of Key West, but rainbands
well removed from the center spawned a killer tornado in Brevard County
at Barefoot Bay.
The Melbourne Doppler Weather radar captures the cyclonic
circulation associated with the Barefoot Bay Tornado.
