SEVERAL WEAK COLD FRONTS MOVED THROUGH EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA DURING 
THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER...LEADING TO PERSISTENT NORTHERLY FLOW WITH 
BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND RAINFALL. 
 
.TEMPERATURES...
TEMPERATURES AVERAGED AROUND 4 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL ACROSS ALL OF 
EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. MONTHLY AVERAGE 
TEMPERATURES AT DAYTONA BEACH...MELBOURNE AND VERO BEACH ALL RANKED 
AMONG THE TOP TEN COOLEST NOVEMBERS. THE FIRST FRONTAL PASSAGE OF 
THE MONTH OCCURRED ON NOVEMBER 1ST AND 2ND...BRINGING RECORD LOW 
TEMPERATURES TO SEVERAL LOCATIONS IN THE REGION ON NOVEMBER 1ST. 
SOUTHERLY FLOW AHEAD OF ANOTHER SYSTEM FROM THE 11TH THROUGH THE 
14TH BROUGHT ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES...BEFORE A SLOW MOVING 
FRONTAL PASSAGE FROM THE 14TH THROUGH 17TH USHERED IN COOLER 
TEMPERATURES WITH LOW TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL. PERSISTENT STRATUS 
ON THE 19TH HELD HIGH TEMPERATURES IN THE 50S AND LOW 60S ACROSS THE 
AREA WITH DAYTONA BEACH SETTING A RECORD COOL HIGH TEMPERATURE. 
NORTHERLY FLOW THROUGH THE 26TH KEPT TEMPERATURES BELOW NORMAL... 
WITH A BRIEF PERIOD OF NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES ON THE 27TH BEFORE A 
FRONTAL PASSAGE ON THE 28TH BROUGHT TEMPERATURES BACK BELOW NORMAL. 

RECORD TEMPERATURES FOR THE MONTH:

DAYTONA BEACH:
-NOVEMBER 19TH: RECORD COOL HIGH OF 58 DEGREES BROKE THE PREVIOUS
RECORD OF 59 SET IN 1951. 

ORLANDO:
-NOVEMBER 1ST: RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 44 DEGREES TIED THE PREVIOUS
RECORD LAST SET IN 1993.

VERO BEACH:
-NOVEMBER 1ST: RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 46 DEGREES BROKE THE 
PREVIOUS RECORD OF 48 DEGREES LAST SET IN 1993. 

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE VALUES FOR NOVEMBER 2012 AT THE FOUR PRIMARY
CLIMATE SITES ACROSS EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA ARE AS FOLLOWS (RANKINGS
PROVIDED IF IN THE TOP 10):

-DAYTONA BEACH HAD AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 62.2 DEGREES 
FAHRENHEIT, WHICH WAS 4.4 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THIS IS THE 7TH 
COOLEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD FOR DAYTONA BEACH.

-ORLANDO HAD AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 64.7 DEGREES 
FAHRENHEIT, WHICH WAS 3.8 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. 

-MELBOURNE HAD AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 65.0 DEGREES 
FAHRENHEIT, WHICH WAS 4.0 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THIS IS THE 8TH
COOLEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD FOR MELBOURNE.

-VERO BEACH HAD AN AVERAGE MONTHLY TEMPERATURE OF 66.0 DEGREES 
FAHRENHEIT, WHICH WAS 4.2 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THIS WAS THE 7TH 
COOLEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD FOR VERO BEACH.

.RAINFALL...NOVEMBER WAS A VERY DRY MONTH ACROSS EAST CENTRAL 
FLORIDA WITH SEVERAL WEAK FRONTAL PASSAGES THAT PRODUCED LITTLE TO 
NO RAINFALL...COMPOUNDING ONGOING RAIN DEFICITS ACROSS THE REGION. 
THE MONTH STARTED WITH A FRONTAL PASSAGE THAT MOVED THROUGH THE 
REGION ON NOVEMBER 1ST AND 2ND...WITH ANOTHER FRONTAL PASSAGE ON 
NOVEMBER 6TH THAT PRODUCED TRACE AMOUNTS OF RAINFALL ACROSS THE 
REGION. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL OF THE MONTH OCCURRED WITH A 
SLOW MOVING FRONTAL SYSTEM THAT TRAVERSED THE REGION FROM THE 14TH 
THROUGH THE 17TH. RAINFALL AMOUNTS FROM A FEW HUNDREDTHS TO SEVERAL 
INCHES DURING THESE THREE DAYS. A FEW COASTAL SHOWERS WITH A FEW 
HUNDREDTHS OF ACCUMULATION OCCURRED WITH ANOTHER FRONTAL PASSAGE 
THAT TRAVERSED THE REGION ON NOVEMBER 28TH. 

TOTAL PRECIPITATION IN NOVEMBER AVERAGED LESS THAN A HALF OF AN INCH 
ACROSS THE AREA...WHICH WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL.

RECORD RAINFALL FOR THE MONTH: NONE

NOVEMBER 2012 RAINFALL TOTALS FOR THE FOUR MAIN CLIMATE SITES ACROSS
EAST CENTRAL FLORIDA ARE AS FOLLOWS (RANKINGS PROVIDED IF IN THE TOP
10):

-DAYTONA BEACH RECEIVED 0.77 INCHES OF RAIN FOR THE MONTH, WHICH WAS
1.92 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.

-ORLANDO RECEIVED 0.23 INCHES OF RAIN FOR THE MONTH, WHICH WAS 1.94
INCHES BELOW NORMAL. THIS TIES FOR THE 10TH DRIEST NOVEMBER ON WHICH 
ALSO OCCURRED IN 1967. 

-MELBOURNE RECEIVED 0.99 INCHES OF RAIN FOR THE MONTH, WHICH WAS
2.22 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. 

-VERO BEACH RECEIVED 0.85 INCHES OF RAIN FOR THE MONTH, WHICH WAS
2.43 INCHES BELOW NORMAL.
