STORM TIDE HEIGHTS AT
BREVARD COUNTY TIME HISTORY POINTS

Time/History points have been included on the Atlases at selected locations, to define surge elevations for the Category 1-,3-, and 5- hurricanes in these areas. The depth of surge, for a given hurricane category, at these locations can be determined by deducting the known ground elevation (using local survey data, referenced to the National Geodetic Vertical Datum--NGVD) from the respective hurricane category surge elevation.
The TIME HISTORY POINTS are marked ON THE SURGE MAPS with numbered penants. The example at right indicates point number 26.
