D. STORM TIDES AND HEIGHTS

AT THIS TIME THE ONLY STORM SURGE INFO AVAILABLE WAS FROM A VESSEL
OWNER WHO WITNESSED A 6 FOOT RISE INSIDE THE ST. LUCIE INLET.

E. BEACH AND INTRACOASTAL EROSION

HURRICANE WILMA PRODUCED A BRIEF PERIOD OF ONSHORE WINDS FOLLOWED BY
STRONG NORTH WINDS ALONG THE COAST BETWEEN CAPE CANAVERAL AND
JUPITER INLET. BEACH EROSION VALUES RANGE FROM 1 TO 3 FEET.

F. FLOODING

THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL FROM HURRICANE WILMA FELL ACROSS NORTHERN
BREVARD AND NORTHEAST OSCEOLA COUNTIES. NASA GAUGES REPORTED 10 TO
13 INCHES OF RAIN.  ABOUT 200 HOMES WERE FLOODED IN THE WESTERN PART
OF THE CITY OF COCOA AND WEST MELBOURNE. TWELVE HOMES WERE ALSO
FLOODED IN ST. CLOUD. 

G. TORNADOES

* TORNADO-F0 10/23/05 1725 EST: A LONG TRACK MESOCYLONE FORMED OVER
OKEECHOBEE COUNTY AND MOVED NORTHWARD PRODUCING TWO DOCUMENTED
TORNADOES. THE FIRST TORNADO OCCURRED IN AND JUST NORTH NORTH OF
FORT DRUM. NUMEROUS REPORTS OF PUBLIC SIGHTNINGS OF A TORNADO WERE
RECEIVED AND A GROUND SURVEY REVEALED TREE DAMAGE INDICATIVE OF A
TORNADO TRACK CROSSING HIGHWAY 441 BETWEEN FORT DRUM AND YEEHAW
JUNCTION. THE SECOND TORNADO TOUCH DOWN IS DESCRIBED BELOW.

* TORNADO-F0 10/23/05 1805 EST: SEVERAL PUBLIC REPORTS WERE RECEIVED
OF A TORNADO IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY...10 MILES EAST OF YEEHAW
JUNCTION. A GROUND SURVEY CONFIRMED TREE DAMAGE IN THIS AREA ALONG
STATE ROAD 60.

TORNADO-F0 10/23/05 2030 EST:  A LONG LIVED TROPICAL RAIN BAND
MESOCYCLONE MOVED UP THE WESTERN BORDER OF BREVARD COUNTY AND
PRODUCED A BRIEF F0 TORNADO IN NORTH ROCKLEDGE AND SOUTH COCOA.  THE
TORNADO DESTROYED A SMALL PORCH AT A RESTAURANT AND DAMAGED THE ROOF
OF AN APARTMENT BUILDING. JUST NORTH OF THE AREA POWER TRANSFORMERS
WERE DESTROYED ON US HIGHWAY 520 WEST OF THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY.
THE TORNADO CROSSED THE INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY AND DESTROYED POWER
TRANSFORMERS ON NORTH MERRITT ISLAND ABOUT A MILE NORTH OF HIGHWAY
520.

TORNADO-F1 10/24/05 0635 EST:  A RAINBAND MOVING NORTHWEST TOWARD
THE BREVARD COAST PRODUCED AN F1 TORNADO THAT DESTROYED A BEACH
FRONT HOME ABOUT 3 MILES NORTH OF SEBASTIAN INLET. THE TORNADO
REMOVED THE UPPER FLOOR OF A HOUSE THAT WAS BUILD OVER A GROUND
LEVEL GARAGE. THE ONLY OCCUPANT WAS A WOMAN WHO ESCAPED SERIOUS
INJURY.

TORNADO-F0 10/24/05 0640 EST:  THE SAME MESOCYCLONE CONTINUED
NORTHWEST AND BRIEFLY TOUCHED DOWN IN PALM BAY. WITNESSES OBSERVED
IT STRIKING POWER TRANSFORMERS.

TORNADO-F1 10/24/05 0650 EST:  THE THIRD TOUCHDOWN OF THIS LONG
TRACK MESOCYCLONE WAS AN F1 TORNADO IN WEST MELBOURNE.  THE TORNADO
DESTROYED A LARGE SECTION OF AN APARTMENT ROOF, OVERTURNED A CAR AND
DAMAGED TWO OTHERS.  IT BLEW DOWN FENCES AND TREES.

H. STORM EFFECTS...DAMAGE AND IMPACTS BY COUNTY.

VOLUSIA COUNTY...THE ROOF OF ONE HOME AND A HOME UNDER CONSTRUCTION
WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED IN DAYTONA BEACH SHORES. A FEW TREES AND POWER
LINES WERE DOWN. 

BREVARD COUNTY...MINOR WIND DAMAGE WAS REPORTED ACROSS THE COUNTY
WITH TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN.  THE NORTHERN PART OF THE COUNTY
RECEIVED FROM 10 TO 13 INCHES OF RAIN IN SOME LOCATIONS. NUMEROUS
HOMES HAD FLOOD WATER SEEPING INTO THEM FROM WEST MELBOURNE NORTH TO
COCOA AND MIMS.

INDIAN RIVER COUNTY...MINOR WIND DAMAGE WAS REPORTED ACROSS THE
COUNTY WITH TREES AND POWER LINES DOWN. A COMMUNICATIONS TOWER WAS
BLOWN DOWN DAMAGING THE COUNTY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS CENTER.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY...THE EYEWALL OF HURRICANE WILMA PASSED JUST SOUTH
OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY. THE STRONGEST WINDS OCCURRED AS THE WINDS
BACKED TO THE NORTH WITH WILMA JUST OFFSHORE TO THE EAST. ESTIMATED
WIND GUSTS OF 100 PLUS MPH OCCURRED ALONG THE BEACHES.  INLAND WIND
ESTIMATES WERE NEAR 70 TO 80 MPH. AT LEAST TWO MOBILE HOMES IN THE
SPANISH LAKES COMMUNITY WERE DESTROYED WITH WIDESPREAD DAMAGE TO
PORCHES, AWNINGS AND SCREEN ENCLOSURES. A MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
FIELD WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED AS WAS THE ROOF OF THE ST. LUCIE COUNTY
CIVIC CENTER. 
  
MARTIN COUNTY...NOT AVAILABLE.

OKEECHOBEE COUNTY...THE STRONGEST WINDS IN OKEECHOBEE COUNTY WERE
OUT OF THE NORTHEAST THROUGH NORTHWEST AS HURRICANE WILMA PASSED TO
THE EAST.  WIND SPEEDS IN THE 70S TO UPPER 80S WERE RECORDED BUT
MOST WIND EQUIPMENT FAILED BEFORE RECORDING THE MAXIMUM WIND IN THE
HURRICANE. MOST DAMAGE OCCURRED IN THE SOUTH PART OF THE COUNTY AND
AROUND LAKE OKEECHOBEE. ABOUT 800 RESIDENCES WERE DAMAGED. OF THESE
TWENTY NINE WERE DESTROYED AND 114 RECEIVED MAJOR DAMAGE. THE
OKEECHOBEE CITY WATER PLANT WAS SHUT DOWN DUE TO THE QUALITY OF THE
WATER IN LAKE OKEECHOBEE. THREE HANGERS WERE DESTROYED AND 2
SUSTAINED MAJOR DAMAGE AT OKEECHOBEE AIRPORT. TWO AIRPLANES WERE
OVERTURNED. FIFTY COVERED BOAT SLIPS WERE DESTROYED AND 12 BOATS
WERE DAMAGED OR SUNK.  

LAKE COUNTY...NONE.

ORANGE COUNTY...NONE.

SEMINOLE COUNTY...NONE.

OSCEOLA COUNTY....HEAVY RAINS FLOODED 12 HOMES IN ST. CLOUD. ONE
MOBILE HOME WAS DESTROYED IN KISSIMMEE.  NUMEROUS HOMES AND MOBILE
HOMES SUFFERED MINOR WIND DAMAGE TO AWNINGS AND PORCHES.
