Severe Weather Awareness Week - January 24th-30th 2010 

The State of Florida has declared January 24th through January 30th, Severe Weather Awareness Week in 2010.

The National Weather Service in Melbourne will be participating as a partner in spreading the word about weather hazards that can impact the state throughout all seasons of the year.

Each day this week will focus on a different weather hazard that affects Florida:

Monday, January 25 2010 Lightning Awareness Day
Tuesday, January 26 2010 Marine Hazards and Rip Current Awareness Day
Wednesday, January 27 2010 Tornado and Thunderstorm Awareness Day
Thursday, January 28 2010 Hurricane and Flooding Awareness Day
Friday, January 29 2010 Temperature Extremes and Wildfire Awareness Day
