Melbourne WSR-88D Hurricane Andrew Radar Pictures

August 24th 2012 is the 20th Anniversary of Hurricane Andrew's landfall in south Florida.  NWS Miami has updated their Hurricane Andrew page with a video summary of this Category 5 Hurricane and other information on this historic storm.

The Melbourne doppler radar was operating on August 24, 1992, and although the range to south Florida was extreme (about 160nm), these historic images of Hurricane Andrew were recorded.
