Broward County is StormReady - AGAIN! Collier and Miami-Dade Counties to Follow (updates to be provided soon).

From left to right: Broward
County Mayor Josephus Eggelletion, WFO Miami WCM Rob Molleda, along
with Lori Vun Kannon and Atiba Upchurch of Broward County
Emergency Management Agency.
On Tuesday, May 8, 2007, WFO Miami WCM Rob Molleda formally
presented Broward County with their updated StormReady sign and renewal
sticker for 2006-2009. The presentation was held at the
regular meeting of the Broward County Commission in Fort
Lauderdale at the Government
Center on Andrews Avenue.
The staff at the Broward County Emergency Management Agency have done an outstanding
job fulfilling the NWS StormReady program requirements to ensure that Broward County
can meet the challenge from any weather threat. Those threats not only include hurricanes,
but also tornadoes, hail, damaging straight line winds, flash floods, rip currents and even fires.
All six counties in WFO Miami's area of responsibility have been
StormReady renewed. Full re-recognitions have already begun in 2008
with Collier and Miami-Dade Counties already having fulfilled the requirements for re-recognition through 2011.
